WDP Willebroek

Soil remediation of a huge polluted site along the A12 in Antwerp. This area is a former waste dump of fly ashes, a coal combustion product originating from industrial processes. The site was operated by KEMIRA, a giant chemical company from Finland. Sitting dormant for many years the hazardous waste dump is finally being remediated by DEME. Sprinklers prevent spillage into the open air.

Real estate group Warehouses De Pauw (WDP) is now the owner of the lot. This area will be redeveloped into a business park, with a superior location along the Antwerp-Brussels axis.
