Steenbakkerij Lauwers

Pre-redevelopment documentation of the historical Novobric brickworks, later acquired by the Lauwers brothers and merged into Steenbakkerij Lauwers in 1981. Boom and Noeveren were key regions in the development of the brickyards industry. Some of the old factories have been demolished, some of them were saved and became heritage museums. And yet there’s still a few dormant brick works without any purpose or future.


Brocap acquired the Lauwers site in 2023 and subsequently started working on a masterplan for redeveloping this entire area, together with AWG Architects and A-Space.
